★★★★★ This book took me straight into the life of each of the people in the story. I felt as though I had traveled back in time to the invasion. I could feel the fear and willingness to survive the ordeal. Anyone that has a curiosity of what it might have been there needs to read that book!

★★★★★ The author wrote a terrific book about the horror struggles, heroics, life and death and suffering that occurred during World War 2. The characters are well developed and you feel sad, proud, afraid, anxious, and thankful as you feel you are with them during these events. The historical accuracy is amazing, which helps with the credibility of the story. Thank you for writing parts of this history that many will never know because it isn’t included in history books and doesn’t make it into movies (although this would be a great book to be made into a movie)
